My dance and performance art is based on my personal identity, history, and background. It is vulnerable, raw, and confusing. At the foundation of my work are words, experiences, body, organs, health, thoughts, time, boundaries and restrictions set by my body as inspiration. Equity and accessibility are at the center of my art and dance culture because I am a disabled dancer. Through choreography I convey my stories to the audience with an experience that involves disorientation, confusion, and being overwhelmed of all senses. I work with the goal of transporting the audience by creating, molding, and physicalizing my world, by making the audience do as much work as the performer. I push boundaries in my work based on the social, cultural, and political climate that we live in. How can I create mundane, particular, raw, and humanistic sensations throughout the performers and audiences bodies?
